GIANNA ALBERI
A lifelong dialogue with light, interiors and craftsmanship.
Venice taught me that light is not only something we see — it is something we feel, remember and carry within us.

From Home to Home
Born in Geneva to a Swiss mother and Italian father, I grew up surrounded by aesthetics, architecture and artistic sensitivity. My father, a civil engineer and passionate painter, awakened an appreciation for beauty and composition from an early age, while years spent transforming homes alongside my architect brother deepened my understanding of space, materials and emotional atmospheres.
While pursuing an international business career, I cultivated a parallel world guided by art, interiors, architecture and Venetian craftsmanship.
Long before founding LA VENETIANA, I was naturally drawn to objects rich in memory, texture and cultural resonance. Over time, this fascination led to immersive artistic explorations — from ceramics workshops in Switzerland to Murano glassmaking, mosaic craftsmanship and sculptural experimentation in Venice.
Beyond creation itself, Venice became a profound emotional landscape.

Since my first visits as a child, the city has accompanied me through the years as a place of silence, reflections, fading beauty and luminous contrasts. My marriage in Venice in 1999 marked the beginning of an even deeper bond that continued to grow through seasons of returning, observing, learning and wandering across the lagoon.
From hidden artisan ateliers to long escapes through the Venetian islands, from discovering historical textiles to meeting exceptional craftspeople, LA VENETIANA emerged naturally as the expression of a lifelong dialogue between art, memory, craftsmanship and light.
Today, from my atelier on Giudecca island, each creation reflects a desire to capture emotion through contemporary sculptural objects rooted in Venetian culture and métiers d’art.
